Angels' Phelps, Peters notch wrestling wins at tournament

Bristol Bay's Logan Phelps and Jackson Peters both recorded wins this past weekend at the Lancer Smith Memorial Wrestling Tournament in Wasilla, and helped the Angels finish 40th in the three-day meet. Overall, the two BBHS wrestlers accounted for six points.

Phelps, now 9-4 for the season, garnered a thrilling overtime win over Grace Christian's Colton Dow in his second match of the tournament. After finishing the first three periods with the score tied at 2-2, Phelps recorded the win with a 2-point takedown in OT.

Peters, now 4-2 for the season, collected his win with a pin of Redington's Joseph Haxton in the first round of the 160-pound division. Both finished the tournament with 1-2 records.
