A contest is underway for students across Alaska to design posters related to the Choose Respect campaign. Started under former Gov. Sean Parnell, the initiative is meant to bring awareness to the issue of domestic violence and sexual assault in the state by engaging its residents in meaningful learning and teaching opportunities in the public eye. The campaign has continued under Gov. Bill Walker.

This year, students may participate in a number of activities including this contest, for which they must design a poster illustrating this year's theme: "Choose Respect: Alaskans pulling together for each other."

Posters may be sent to: Office of the Governor. Attention: Poster Contest, 550 West Seventh Avenue, Suite 1700, Anchorage, AK 99501.
