Unalaska, Bristol Bay headline 2A polls

The Unalaska Raiders and Bristol Bay Lady Angels grabbed top billing in the latest Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches poll. Both squads were ranked No. 1 in their respective divisions.

Unalaska, now 11-0 coming off a pair of tough wins against Dimond, edged out Unalakleet in the boys' 2A rankings. Petersburg, Chevak and Wrangell rounded out the boys' poll, which was released Jan. 25.

Bristol Bay was the runaway leader in the girls' 2A rankings. The Lady Angels are 15-2 for the season.

Metlakatla and Point Hope were second and third, respectively in the 2A ranks.

Southwest Alaska was also well represented in the Class 1A polls. The King Cove T-Jacks were ranked No. 2, while Sand Point checked in at No. 4.
