Smeaton keys win for Alaska Ice girls basketball team

The Alaska Ice elite girls basketball team beat the Ephrata (Wash.) B squad by a whopping 76-17 score during a tournament in Spokane, Wash.

Dillingham's Kristin Smeaton collected 9 assists and scored 2 points.

Caitlin Auble of Valdez led the way with 17 points.

"The girls did very well shooting and shot a high percentage," said Alaska Ice coach Doug Boyer of Bethel.

The Alaskans improved to 2-0 on their summer tour. They won their first game 47-17 over Class 4A program Moses Lake, Wash.
