Bristol Bay boys hang on to win fourth place

Jaxon Wassillie delivered a player-of-the-game performance for the Bristol Bay boys basketball team on the final day of the Class 2A state tournament in Anchorage.

Wassillie scored 24 points and pulled down 21 rebounds to lead the charge in a 63-61 victory over Scammon Bay in the fourth-place game at Sullivan Arena.

The Angels outscored Scammon Bay 22-15 in the third quarter to take control.

Bristol Bay's Luke Wilson scored 13 points, Sergie Chukwak added 12 points and Brandon Rush handed off four assists.

The Angels outscored Scammon Bay 20-1 from the foul line.
